Chris Matthews gives airtime to Obama Haters with Update Chris on Keith's Show
Mon Aug 25, 2008 at 03:09:46 PM PDT
I'm watching MSNBC and Chris Matthews went outside the temporary studio in Denver to interview people who are standing outside the glass windows of his studio.
First he interviews a McCain group from Colorado and Utah but then he interviewed three women who are Hillary supporters and who now support McCain. These three women stood there holding Hillary and McCain signs and then they opened their mouths and smeared Obama. They didn't talk about issues or Hillary..nothing as substantial as something real or valid. No, they SMEARED him.

Might also be important to inform one and all that in 2007, the Supremes upheld the Partial Birth Abortion Act in a frightening decision, Gonzalez v Cahart, 2007: http://www.aclusandiego.org/...

Wolfson: Now Obama not qualified for VP
Mon Mar 10, 2008 at 10:01:55 AM PDT
Via Swampland's Mike Dorning:
Clinton aide: Obama unqualified for veep
by Mike Dorning
After several days of Bill and Hillary Clinton floating the idea of a joint ticket with rival Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton chief spokesman Howard Wolfson declared Monday that Clinton does not consider Obama qualified to be vice president.
Still, Wolfson said Clinton would not "rule out" Obama as a potential vice president, in the event the Illinois senator is somehow able to prove he meets the test for commander-in-chief between now and Denver.
Update with full comments to come shortly

Deep Thoughts: I wonder what 'proof' Wolfson and Hillary would need? Tea with the ladies of Ireland? Singing on stage with Sinbad? The mind boogles.

What about those tax returns, Hillary?
Wed Mar 05, 2008 at 12:57:09 PM PDT
As Martha Stewart might say, 'Vetting is a good thing".
I agree and that's why I think Hillary and Bill Clinton's recent past should be vetted just as thoroughly as Obama's. The last eight years or so since Bill left office, there hasn't been much examination of the Clintons.
For instance, I wonder about those donations to the Clinton Library. Who were the donors and how much did they give? Why isn't there full disclosure about the Clinton Library?
Right now, I wonder about her tax returns? Why aren't they released? Surely, Clinton must have an accountant that can help her get her records in order for a speedy release? Why do we have to wait?
It seems Senator Obama's campaign is wondering the same thing because they released the following statement.
SNL/Tina Fey: The "Cool Kids" Have Spoken?
Sun Feb 24, 2008 at 09:16:38 AM PDT
Did anyone watch SNL last night? It was the first show since the writer's strike and Tina Fey was guest hosting, so I decided to tune in even though I no longer watch it regularly anymore.
It was interesting to say the least. Not because the writers found their comedic mojo again (they didn't) but because it seems the Cool Kids have spoken about who is in and who is out.
Here's a quick synopsis:
SNL "hearts" Hillary.
Tina Fey really, really "hearts" Hillary.
Tina Fey wants Ohio and Texas to vote for Hillary because she's like a nun you hate but makes you know the capitol of Vermont. Plus, it's okay that Hillary and Bill run the country together as co-preznits because it's kinda like Starsky and Hutch. (I kid you not.)
B**ch is the new black. (Who knew?)
Obama is not cool. ObamacultObamacultObamacult. Rinse and repeat.
Obama is their new Gore.

Since we have some great John Edwards diaries up today and an interesting Hillary diary concerning her interest in chosing a running mate (already!), I thought I'd throw some Obama into the mix...just keep everything ''fair and balanced". :)
Roberts' Great Summer Home Buy?
Mon Jul 30, 2007 at 08:56:46 PM PDT
Justice Roberts' suffered a seizure today while vacationing at his Hupper Island summer home in Maine.
According to the Washington Post, Roberts and his wife purchased the vacation home last year from the former host of "This Old House" Steve Thomas. Washington Post
The story also stated that Roberts' and his wife secured a $275,000 mortgage and a $100,000 credit agreement to purchase the home.
Scotusblog describes the summer home thusly:
His summer home, bought in the late spring of 2006, is on a 2-acre plot on Hupper Island, about 2 kilometers off the coast from a point near Port Clyde, Maine. Port Clyde is described locally as "a fishing village located on St. George Peninsula, which is a point of land between the towns of Thomaston and Rockland." Roberts' home there is about 225 feet from shore with a water view across Muscongus Bay toward the mainland, according to a news wire account in June 2006. That report said the island had 20 to 30 homes.

I expected a slew of "Free Scooter" editorials and OpEd columns from the Washington Post. What do you expect from a newspaper that has Fred Hiatt dominating the Editorial Board? The myth of the Washington Post being a bastion of elite liberal thought has long been discredited. The glory days of Watergate have long faded. In fact, I shudder to think how WaPo would handle Watergate today.
But..
